France is on the verge of introducing one of Europe's toughest online safety measures for children after lawmakers reached agreement on legislation restricting social media access for under-15s. The proposal, championed by President Emmanuel Macron, also includes mandatory age checks for platforms and tighter rules on smartphone use in schools.
