After emerging as the single largest party in the Saxony-Anhalt state elections, Germany's far-right AfD has claimed that rebel lawmakers from Chancellor Friedrich Merz's CDU have offered their support to help it form a government. The AfD is three seats short of a majority and requires support from another party to form the government.
