Elon Musk has repeatedly praised X’s crowd-sourced fact-checking system as a way to correct misinformation without relying on professional fact-checkers. A new NewsGuard study, however, found that Community Notes failed to flag most false claims about the US midterm elections, including several shared by Musk himself.
