Microsoft researchers say an AI system that investigates symptoms, selects tests and revises its diagnostic approach outperformed general physicians in complex medical cases. Published in Science, the study also found that the technology could reduce diagnostic costs, although its performance in real-world clinical settings remains to be tested.
